A group of South Dakota soybean farmers are in Europe on a trade mission and educational program. While in France, directors from the South Dakota Soybean Research & Promotion Council had a very rare opportunity to meet with several representatives from the USDA’s Foreign Ag Service (FAS) in the European Union (EU). Foreign Ag Service representatives were meeting in Reims, France to forecast plantings throughout the EU for the USDA. From visits with countries like France, Germany, Italy, Romania, UK, Netherlands and more, the South Dakota group gained valuable insights on issues like biotechnology, sustainability and market opportunities for US soy.
