Join us for Tailgating & Football at Cereal Bowl!
Come celebrate the 17th annual Cereal Bowl this Saturday! We’re hosting a free barbeque with SD Corn in the Cereal Bowl tailgating tent just north of the Dykhouse Center from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
After tailgating, catch the SDSU football game at 2 p.m. against UC Davis at the Coughlin Memorial Stadium in Brookings.
The Cereal Bowl provides the College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences with the opportunity to celebrate the tremendous contributions of South Dakota’s crop producers.
During the game there will be a special half-time presentation to recognize the contributions of the South Dakota Wheat Commission, the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council, the South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council, the South Dakota Crop Improvement Association, Foundation Seed Stocks, the South Dakota Oilseeds Council, and the South Dakota Pulse Council which have contributed more than $3.3 million in the last year to scholarships, building projects, academic programs, research and SDSU Extension.
“Today’s plant science students are tomorrow’s innovators and entrepreneurs. When they leave SDSU, they enter South Dakota’s largest industry – agriculture. Whether they return to their family’s farming operation, enter agri-business or start companies of their own; plant science professionals play an important role in our state’s economic development,” said Barry Dunn, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Director of SDSU Extension. “As plant science professionals and farmers, these highly trained individuals provide the knowledge, technology and research necessary for our state to remain competitive in the global market as well as helping to feed the nation and world today and into the future.”
