Checkoff Check-In: Brookings, SD

June 8, 2022

Farming and the community. Seeing the broader perspective

By visiting different communities and lifting up the individual voices of producers across the state, the Checkoff Check-In will celebrate the individuals and communities that have made agriculture the foundation of South Dakota’s growth and prosperity.

Brookings, Around here

Around here, we value innovation in higher education. The Raven Precision Agriculture Center, funded in part by SD farmers through their Soybean Checkoff, is a hub for hundreds of students and faculty to collaborate and build a strong ecosystem for learning.

Wilmot, In the field

Through Soybean Checkoff investments, South Dakota soybean farmers have supported innovation at our state’s land grant institution, South Dakota State University, for many years. The return on this investment is more than research results, SDSU graduates strengthen the agriculture economy in rural SD communities and around the world.

Brookings, Bean market insights

Checkoff-supported research has changed the agriculture industry. Farmers have higher yields and bigger market demand for South Dakota soybeans than ever before.
