This year’s tour will follow the U.S. soybean processing and export trail all the way to the bustling TEMCO terminal located on the Port of Tacoma. TEMCO, a 50-50 joint venture between CHS and Cargill, boasts the only 1,000-ton cantilever roof in the world. At nearly one acre in size, the roof covers ships so feed grains can be loaded and kept dry during the rainy season.

Tour participants will also visit an aquaculture facility at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration site, as well as Gray’s Harbor, including Imperium Renewables and the AGP export facility. Imperium Renewables, Inc. is a national leader in next-generation biofuel production.

Only 15 South Dakota farmers will be chosen to participate in the tour. Airfare, lodging and most other expenses will be covered.
