SDSA supports soybean and corn-based biofuels industries
The drive away from petroleum to more environmentally friendly and sustainable energy sources has created tremendous opportunities for biofuels. As a result, biofuels have an increasingly profound impact on soybean and corn demand. Biodiesel, renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel, and ethanol are extremely important to South Dakota farm families and the state’s economy. Recent studies show that biofuels can be even more sustainable than electricity.
Carbon dioxide is a by-product of the ethanol process. The safest and most efficient way to transport carbon dioxide is through pipelines, therefore, the South Dakota Soybean Association supports carbon pipelines that add value to SD commodities.
