Apply to Become an SDSA Director
The South Dakota Soybean Association represents SDSA members, giving us all a strong voice in the formation of legislation and public policy. The organization is governed by a board of farmer-leaders who are elected by the members of SDSA. Our board includes directors from nine districts, plus at-large directors.
There are five upcoming openings on the board in December. One director will be elected from each of the following districts: Three, Four, Six and Nine. There is also one At-Large seat open, which means any eligible South Dakota soybean farmer can fill the spot, regardless of location.
- Directors must become a member of SDSA to hold a board seat.
- Directors must live in a county from the district he or she is representing.
- Directors must produce and market a minimum of 250 bushels of soybeans on an annual basis.
SDSA members will elect the new directors at the SDSA Annual Meeting on December 8. The Annual Meeting is held in conjunction with the AgOutlook Conference & Trade Show.
If you are interested in becoming an SDSA director, you can find the application form on our website. You can also contact the SDSA office at 605.330.0278 for more information. Applications are due by December 5. Once your application is received, your name will be placed on the ballot for consideration. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the Annual Meeting.
