Five Planting Tips to Maximize Soybean Yields

The South Dakota Soybean Research & Promotion Council (SDSRPC) is the farmer-led organization charged with wisely investing & leveraging checkoff dollars on behalf of South Dakota soybean farmers.
The second day in Guangzhou, the See for Yourself group found themselves busy with travel and meetings. First stop on the agenda, the Nansha Grain and General Cargo Terminal Branch Company (NGT).
Continuing their journey in China, the See for Yourself group traveled to Yang Xiang Company near Guigang, Guangxi. On the way, the group experienced the countryside of China, a big change of scenery compared to Beijing. Farms in rural China mainly grow rice, sugar cane and a variety of fruits and vegetables on small plots of land. En route to the Yang Xiang Company, the group even witnessed a local farmer plowing his field with oxen.
This week, South Dakota soybean farmers had the opportunity to meet with one of the largest private agricultural companies in China. HOPEFULL Grain & Oil Group Co., Ltd is a leading integrator in agricultural trade, grain storage, packaging and ocean transportation. The company is also one of the leading soybean processors in China, crushing 9 million metric tons of soybeans this year alone.
Twelve South Dakota Soybean farmers are experiencing the importance of international marketing firsthand in China. The group arrived in China earlier this week, and will meet with soybean buyers, soybean processors and livestock producers throughout their 10-day mission.
