Developing Consumer Trust Workshops

The South Dakota Soybean Research and Promotion Council (SDSRPC) invites South Dakota farmers to a half-day workshop focused on empowering them to effectively connect with consumers about their farming practices.

Farmers who attend the workshop, titled “Developing Consumer Trust,” will learn what it takes to earn consumer trust and receive training on how to engage with consumers on tough topics pertaining to food and farming. Lunch will be provided at both of the following sessions:

Developing Consumer Trust Workshop – Aberdeen

  • Tuesday, February 6 in Aberdeen, S.D.
    • Registration: 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
    • Workshop: 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • Dakota Event Center, 720 Lamont St. S.

Developing Consumer Trust Workshop – Mitchell 

  • Wednesday, February 7 in Mitchell, S.D.
    • Registration: 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
    • Workshop: 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • Ramada Hotel and Event Center, 1525 W. Havens Ave.

Created in partnership with the Center for Food Integrity, the workshop is part of SDSRPC’s Hungry for Truth initiative, which focuses on fostering conversations between farmers and consumers about how food is grown and raised in South Dakota.

“Engaging in conversations with consumers about how food is grown and raised is important, and we know it can present challenges,” said Marc Reiner, district 5, director, SDSRPC. “Our goal is to help farmers start a dialogue with consumers and have confidence in their message.”
