Farmers Invited to Attend Regional Soybean Success Seminars

January 14, 2016

You’re invited to attend one of the regional Soybean Success Seminars February 1 – 4. These educational seminars will focus on management practices to help farmers increase soybean yields and quality. We have analyzed six years of Yield Contest data, and agronomists will present best management practices and trends at the seminars.

The Soybean Success Seminars will also feature market advice from Al Kluis and a presentation on climate issues for agriculture from Dr. Dennis Todey.

Dr. Todey is a nationally recognized speaker on Plains and Corn Belt climate issues, climate outlooks, climate change and other current climate and weather issues for agriculture. He is also a regular TV, radio and print media guest on climate impacts and outlooks in the Plains and Midwest.

Kluis has been a commodity advisor and broker since 1976 and is president and managing partner of Kluis Commodities in Wayzata, Minnesota. Al is perhaps best know for his expert advice column, “Your Profit,” which appears in every issue of Successful Farming magazine. Al was also an expert columnist for Corn and Soybean Digest for over 13 years, and has published two books on commodities trading.

“In today’s farm economy, selecting the best management practices for our farms can mean the difference between an annual profit or loss. The 2016 Soybean Success Seminars will provide a window into the cafeteria of the best innovative management practices effectively employed by South Dakota farmers to enhance the sustainability of their family farms and preservation of the land. I invite all farmers to attend one of our regional meetings,” said Jerry Schmitz, soybean farmer from Vermillion and President of the South Dakota Soybean Association.
